School of Business

The School of Business is committed to international academic standards and encourages students to reach their potential. The business and management studies will equip you with the necessary skills to shape a business and management career. Our focus is to prepare students for ethical business leadership in an evolving global economy. To enhance learning, our faculty uses a variety of teaching methods, including case analysis, group projects, field trips, guest speakers and classroom discussions.

Academic Year Structure

Each academic year is made up of 2 long semesters (14 weeks) and 1 short semester (7 weeks). During the year, there will be several mid-semester and end-of-semester breaks.

The Hospitality, Tourism and Events Management programmes at Sunway University College offer a wide range of management and specialist subjects to equip students with the expertise they need to manage a successful international hospitality, tourism and leisure business. This unique combination of functional, academic content and industry based approach allows our students to meet the needs of the largely diverse service industry.

At the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Management, we offer two levels of studies i.e. Diploma and Degree programmes. The degree programmes developed and conducted by the School are validated by Lancaster University, UK. Students who successfully complete the programmes will be recognised as graduates of both Sunway University College and Lancaster University, UK.

The uniqueness of the degree programmes is that students are able to earn a high quality UK honours degree provided by an established and reputable Malaysian institution of higher learning which has high relevance to the Malaysian/ international job market. In addition, course consultants from Lancaster University work closely with Sunway University College to ensure that the standards and quality of teaching at Sunway University College are equivalent to those maintained at Lancaster University, a world renowned British institution. In short, our students get to enjoy being affiliated to a UK university at a fraction of the cost of studying in Britain.

 



Victoria University Bachelor of Business

A Focus on Personal Attributes and Professional Skills

The VU Bachelor of Business is offered by the Faculty of Business and Law which is one of Australia's largest business faculties. It offers business students a unique combination of academic and practical learning experience.

The new Bachelor of Business degree provides business students a learning experience that adds value beyond the discipline and technical knowledge by cultivating and developing professional and personal attributes highly valued by employers. It incorporates a Business Learning Experience Project which comprises three Professional Development units of study spanning over three years. These Professional Development units utilise an interactive team-based approach to learning and teaching.

BSc (Hons) Information Systems

Programme Objective
This programme is designed to provide broad-based subjects to ensure that graduates receive a strong academic foundation. Students would be trained in areas of project management, cyber law and E-Commerce with additional IT skills of programming and systems development. Students may select electives from a list of subjects that would enhance their knowledge in various relevant fields like accounting, customer relationship, management, systems analysis, business intelligence systems and business reengineering processes. Students are required to attend an industrial training programme to apply theory into the IT world.

Career Prospects
Graduates can expect professional career opportunities in modern-day organizations, in the various sectors and industries including banking, business, financial, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG ), Information Technology, sales and marketing; in the areas of application analysis / design / development, end-user support, web / e-commerce design, database administration, computer sales, education and training.
